The Sweet Home Panthers Field Hockey team went 7-11 in 2015.
“It was definitely an improvement from the year prior”. Head Coach Dawn Kauderer said “We’ve been working really hard as a program to increase our skill base…in the past two or three years we’ve seen a big improvement”.
Pistner led the way in scoring with 10 goals and one assist for the Panthers in 2015. Riley Kromer had two goals and eight assists with Neudorf adding three goals and two assists. Penksa made three appearances in net in 2015 making a total of 15 saves.
In preseason camp the Panthers have been looking to hone the principle skills of Field Hockey. “Going back to the basics…working on passing, stick work and receiving” says Coach. Kauderer has been very impressed with the Panthers so far, “right from the start they’ve been playing like a team…nothing more I can ask for”.
Pistner, sophomore Riley Kromer and junior Renee Lauer all play for WNY Whalers Field Hockey Club, which Kauderer believes is a big help to the program. “It’s showing on the field”.
As for the goals of the 2016 season, coach doesn’t like to look to far ahead. “I try to look game by game.”
Sweet Home opens the season at ECIC rival Williamsville South on September 7th at 4:30 pm.
