Billies Improve to 2-0 After Big Win over Lew Port

The score keepers had a busy night up at Niagara University on Monday evening as the Williamsville South Billies and Lewiston Porter Lancers combined for 16 goals.

The Billies won 10-6 in the high scoring affair with Liam Wicks leading the way with a hat trick for Will South.

The Lancers were coming off back-to-back wins over Frontier and Lockport before falling to Will South.

Wicks scored the game’s opening goal but Pete Spameni (LP) answered just a few minutes later while the Lancers were playing a man short. Wicks added his second goal less than a minute later and the slugfest was on.

The teams recorded four goals each in the second period with Will South taking a 7-6 lead into the 3rd.

Will South’s Christian Williams scored a big goal early in the 3rd to give the Billies a two-goal lead (his first of the season). Grayson Gare scored on the power play just a few minutes later and Wicks completed the hat trick late to seal the deal.

Spameni finished with two goals giving him five on the season. Jack Evart and Joey Zachary each scored twice for Lew Port in the loss.

Ben Carey had two goals while Michael Szymanoski, Leonard Higgins and Connor Browne also recorded goals in the win for Will South.
