There were three games on the schedule in Fed hockey Monday evening and tons of goals scored.
Vikings Surge to 3-0 after Shutting Out the Trojans
Grand Island’s Tyler Hunt scored two goals in the first period and assisted on four other Viking goals en route to a 9-0 win over West Seneca East.
Robert Currie III stopped all 14 West Seneca East shots to help improve Grand Island to a 3-0 record.
Brian O’Neill recorded two goals while Mitch Fusillo, Joseph Christiano, Stephen Leone and Liam Snyder also scored in the win.
West Seneca East falls to 1-1 on the season.
Wildcats Take Down Blue Devils
Kenmore West took a 1-0 lead into the first period intermission thanks to a goal from Gavin Piehler. Unfortunately for the Blue Devils, they were unable to score again. Depew’s Greg Puglisi scored a shorthanded goal in the 2nd period to draw even with Ken West. Tanner Zilka added another Wildcat goal just under two minutes later to put Depew up for good.
Riley Kubiak scored a power play goal and Tyler Connors scored as well, both in the third period to put the game out of reach.
Trent Kubiak made 19 saves for Depew.
Billies Improve to 2-0 After Big Win over Lew Port
The score keepers had a busy night up at Niagara University on Monday evening as the Williamsville South Billies and Lewiston Porter Lancers combined for 16 goals.
The Billies won 10-6 in the high scoring affair with Liam Wicks leading the way with a hat trick for Will South.
The Lancers were coming off back-to-back wins over Frontier and Lockport before falling to Will South.
Wicks scored the game’s opening goal but Pete Spameni (LP) answered just a few minutes later while the Lancers were playing a man short. Wicks added his second goal less than a minute later and the slugfest was on.
The teams recorded four goals each in the second period with Will South taking a 7-6 lead into the 3rd.
Will South’s Christian Williams scored a big goal early in the 3rd to give the Billies a two-goal lead (his first of the season). Grayson Gare scored on the power play just a few minutes later and Wicks completed the hat trick late to seal the deal.
Spameni finished with two goals giving him five on the season. Jack Evart and Joey Zachary each scored twice for Lew Port in the loss.
Ben Carey had two goals while Michael Szymanoski, Leonard Higgins and Connor Browne also recorded goals in the win for Will South.
