Marauders Blank Falcons

St. Joe’s scored three goals in the opening period in route to a 5-0 shutout of Niagara Wheatfield. Five different players scored for the Marauders and Joseph Fronczak stopped all 13 shots faced in the win.

Benjamin Cichowski, John Armento and Joseph Tobia each netted first period goals while Sean Deakin and John Gallagher scored in the second and third period.

Niagara Wheatfield (0-2-1) has had a tough go out of the gate with losses to Clarence and St. Francis to open up the season. They’ll have a chance to crack the win column Friday December 20th when they face Orchard Park at Leisure.

St. Joe’s is in action Sunday down at the HarborCenter as they play Monsignor Martin foe Timon.

Lumberjacks Double-Up on Bulldogs

Jakob Lyons and Dominic Burgess scores first period goals for North Tonawanda as they went onto defeat Kenmore East 4-2 on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs cut the deficit in half early in the 2nd period when Gavin Smyth found the back of the net thanks to assists by Zachary Mader and Nathan Wood.

The Lumberjacks would reclaim the lead thanks to Ryan McAvoy’s power play goal with 4:57 remaining in the second.

Chris Lyons gave NT their 3-goal lead back in the third period improving the Lumberjacks record to 1-1-1.

Michael Greiner scored on the power play for Kenmore East.

Alex Wagner made 24 saves in the win.

The Bulldogs (0-3) are leaving today for their annual early season road trip through Plattsburgh, NY for three non-league games beginning tonight.

The Lumberjacks will take on Williamsville South Monday night up at Hyde Park.
