Lancaster Improves to 3-0 in League Play After Dropping Williamsville North 5-2

Max Richter recorded a hat trick for Lancaster in their convincing 5-2 win over the Williamsville North Spartans.

Daniel Zaccarine chipped in a pair of goals to make sure the game stayed within the Legends’ control.

Cody Yaeger, Preston Schlager, Ethan Miller and Tyler Smith each recorded a pair of assists. Jonah Ahrens tallied an assist.

Mac Ward and Sam Gattuso scored the Spartan goals. John Krier, Connor Schwartz and Matthew Scott tallied an assist.

Lancaster (3-0-1 overall) will visit Canisius on Sun Dec 22nd. Williamsville North (5-3) will host Niagara Wheatfield on Sat Dec 28th.

Timon Edges Frannies at Riverworks

Sean McCarthy scored two goals in Timon’s 4-3 win over St. Francis at Riverworks.

Ian Moran gave the Tigers their first lead of the game in the first period.

St. Francis made it interesting, cutting a two-goal deficit in half when Connor Yuhas buried his shot on the power play with 3:55 left in regulation. Bishop Timon was able to hang on for the win thanks to some strong goaltending from Cole Berhalter who made 29 saves in the win.

Stephen Palmisano had a goal and an assist for Timon (2-3). Yuhas finished with two goals and Brian Schiltz added another for the Red Raiders (1-2-1).

Grand Island Holds Off Will East

The Vikings (8-0) scored two 1st period goals en route to a 3-1 win Friday over the Williamsville East Flames.

Dylan Bush and Brian O’Neill scored just over two minutes apart in the opening period.

Will East’s Brennan McCarthy scored a power play goal early in the second to make it a 2-1 game.

Grand Island would score late in the period to stretch their lead back to two.

Robert Currie III made 18 saves in the win.

Kenmore East Wins Their 1st Game of the Season

It’s not how you start a season it’s how you finish. The Kenmore East Bulldogs hope that phrase rings true after picking up their first win of the season 6-2 Friday over Lockport/Niagara Falls.

Anthony Kowalski made 15 saves in the win for Kenmore East.

Alex Ghosen recorded a hat-trick while Tyler Laporta scored two; Parker Cerkiewicz had a goal to round out the scoring for Kenmore East (1-6). Bryan Crisoin added three assists.

Aiden Robbins and Matt Ceccato scored for Lockport/Niagara Falls (0-5-2).

Lew-Port Scores Four in 3rd Period to Down WSW

The West Seneca West Indians took a 2-1 lead into the 3rd period Friday against a tough Lew-Port opponent Friday but were unable to hold on for the win. The Lancers scored four goals in the final 15 minutes of play to win 5-2.

Peter Spameni scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Lancers (4-1). Joey Zachary had two goals, including the game winner. Lucas Eoute also scored for Lew-Port.

Tyler Stevenson made 27 saves for the win.

Ryan Mathews and Billy Coughlin scored for WSW (2-4-2).

Will South Wins Again

Ben Carey of Williamsville South broke a 4-4 tie with West Seneca East Friday night with 2:32 remaining in regulation to give the Billies a 5-4 win at West Seneca Town Rink.

It was a 3-3 hockey game heading into the 3rd period; both teams scored goals in the first five minutes of the period.

Mitchell Kiebala had a pair of goals for Will South (5-3) while Leonard Higgins and Christian Williams also chipped in with a goal apiece.

For West Seneca East (3-2), Colin Schmatz had three assists while Brandon Salazar had two goals. Hunter Kashuba and Daniel Boyle also had goals for the Trojans.
