Yesterday’s games

West Seneca East 7, Sweet Home 1

Connor Mentel had a pair of goals as the Trojans earned their fourth win of the season.

Dan Boyle, Noah Bily, Hunter Kashuba, Evan Dutka, and Jacob Bily also scored for West Seneca East.

Connor Weiskerger netted the lone Panther goal.

Austin Meidenbauer made 25 saves in net for the Trojans.

Lockport-Niagara Falls 4, Amherst 1

Lockport-Niagara Falls jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and never looked back picking up their second win of the season.

Mitch Nation, Mike Ranieri, Drew Merino and Dylan Angelo all scored for L-NF.

Connor Biersbach netted the lone Tiger goal.

Lockport-Niagara Falls goalie Kyler Nowak stopped 16 shots.

Orchard Park 8, Niagara Wheatfield 4

The Quakers got the better of an eight-goal second period en route to their second straight win.

Jack Kinsman and Zachary Mecca both had hat tricks for OP. Owen Hughes and Bret Rokitka also scored for the Quakers.

Ben Shapiro, Cam King, Chris Caccitore, and Jake Halleen netted goals for the Falcons.

OP’s Ryan Albert stopped 22 shots in net.

Canisius 4, Bishop Timon 1

The Crusaders scored two unanswered goals in the third to secure a win in the Niagara Cup.

Connor Long, Sam Nichols, Tim Nettina, and Jack Augustine scored the Canisius goals.

Sean McCarthy netted the lone Timon goal.

Lew-Port 4, Williamsville South 2

The Lancers scored two goals in the third period and added another less than 30 seconds into the second as they have now won three of their last four games.

Peter Spameni lead the way with two goals for Lew-Port. Lancer teammates Jeff Hyde and Luke Wilson also scored.

Ryan McDonald and Marcus Bratton netted the goals for the Billies.

Lew-Port netminder Tyler Stevenson made 32 saves.

Today’s games

Frontier vs. Canisius 1:00 p.m. Buffalo State

The Falcons are coming off a close game with Orchard Park on Friday. The Crusaders have won two straight games since falling to Williamsville North on Jan. 3rd.

St. Joe’s vs. St. Mary’s 4:00 p.m. HarborCenter

The Marauders won the first meeting, 4-0, on Dec. 23rd. St. Joe’s has won both of its games in the New Year. The Lancers are coming off an 8-2 win over Williamsville North on Friday.

Lew-Port vs. Kenmore West 6:15 p.m. HarborCenter

The Blue Devils answered back from a 3-2 overtime loss to Grand Island last Friday by beating Division II foe West Seneca West 2-1 on a last minute goal. The Lancers have won three league games, all coming in the last two weeks.

Grand Island vs. St. Francis 8:30 p.m. HarborCenter

The Vikings begin a tough back-to-back against Division III’s top two schools. GI has won four straight games, two in overtime. This will be the Red Raiders first game of the New Year. In their last game, St. Francis tied West Seneca West 2-2 on Dec. 29th.
