The players below have officially signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their field hockey careers at the collegiate level.

There are many players who have made verbal commitments – when we receive word that they have signed their NLI we will ammend the article below.

Lauren Rabinowitz – Pace University

Rabinowitz was a member of four Section VI Class A Championship teams (2015-18). She helped Williamsville North win Far West Regionals her 9th, 10th and 12th grade seasons; was the leading goal scorer (18 goals, 8 assists) her senior season on a team that reached the State Finals in Class A.

Rabinowitz was an ECIC first team selection in 2018 and was a recipient of the WNY Athletics Field Hockey Player of the Week Award; scholar athlete for lacrosse (3 years of Varsity) and field hockey; member of German National Honor Society and LEAP Club.

Outside of high school Rabinowitz was a US Futures field hockey player and member of the Williamsville Stampede Field Hockey Club (where she also helps with the youth program as a volunteer coach).

“We can put Lauren anywhere and she will produce.  She worked very hard in the off season to develop her field hockey skill set.  She put in the time and effort, and it shows!  Lauren is a great athlete and a positive role model for our program.  I know she will continue to grow and look forward to seeing her play at Pace.” – Williamsville North Varsity Field Hockey Head Coach Jessica Rys

Jenna Piotrowski – Pace University

Piotrowski is a 3-sport Varsity athlete at Williamsville North (Ice Hockey – 4 years, Field Hockey – 3 years, Lacrosse – 2 years). Piotrowski helped Williamsville North to three Section VI Class A Championships during her tenure on Varsity; including a run to the State Finals in 2018, that season also being named to the ECIC first team and the receipient of the team’s MVP award for Attack. Piotrowski will graduate as scholar athlete and 4-year honor roll student.

Piotrowski was a 2-time captain of her travel ice hockey team (Amherst Knights – 6 years); won the NYS Championship in 2014-15. Piotrowski also participated in club field hockey with Williamsville Stampede.

“I noticed Jenna in a PE class I taught and encouraged her to try out.  She has really evolved over the past few years.  She didn’t pick up a field hockey stick until 10th grade.  Jenna, “the bullet,” is one of the fastest players I’ve ever seen.  Jenna has been a positive leader and will leave a long lasting legacy on our program.  She has a passion for improvement and I look forward to seeing her grow into a college player.” – Williamsville North Varsity Field Hockey Head Coach Jessica Rys

Samantha Mallare – Pace University

Mallare switched to goalie on Varsity after a freshman season at the JV level where she was the leading goal scorer and Most Valuable Attack. The positional change helped Williamsville North win three Section VI Class A Championships during her tenure on Varsity.

She was chosen for the NFHCA uncomitted showcase game her sophomore and junior year; also chosen for the Under Armour Select game held in 2017 at Boston College.

After posting a 0.45 GAA her junior year (ranked #7 in the country according to Max Preps), Mallare captained the 2018 team that made a run up to the State Finals where she also received the Sportsmanship Award following the game. That same year she was an ECIC first team selection.

Mallare posted 51 wins, 8 losses, a 90% save percentage, 34 shutouts and a 0.75 Goals Against Average for her career.

Mallare is a member of the National Honor Society, DECA, LEAP Club, Biology Honor Society and participated in club field hockey with Williamsville Stampede.

“Sam started off as goal scorer on JV and has grown into a reliable goalie. We’ve really counted on her the past few years and she has shined.  Sam is a great leader, earning her Captain title this year.  She is hardworking, coachable and a great example for everyone in our program.  The goalies and leaders coming up have big shoes to fill! Sam will be missed and I know she will excel playing college ball.” – Williamsville North Varsity Field Hockey Head Coach Jessica Rys
