Very optimistic for our season this year. We are an older team and with that brings experience and pose. They have been through a lot together including this group having their 2020 season cancelled. We made it to the a2 finals last season and lost a heartbreaker to Iroqouis 2-1. We have a ton of leadership and our expectations have been set high. We have had scrimmages against Depew. Nardin and OP and the intensity has been great.
Key Players Returning: 9 upperclassmen all returning will have opportunity for starting position. 5 Seniors will all start and play a huge role in our success. Senior Olivia Ruggiero is 5 year varsity player and has played second base the last 3 seasons. Will bat in the top 4 and has incredible leadership qualities and work ethic. Olivia led our team in RBIs and second in singles with 25. Also had an average of 455. Senior Marissa Barrali will play primarily 1b but also see time at 3B. 3 year varsity returner. Has a big bat and very powerful up at the plate. She is very athletic and has a great glove on defense. Marissa was second on team with RBIs. Senior MJ Martin 3 year varsity returner has one of the quickest gloves and the best defensive mechanics for an infielder I have seen in a long time. She has a very quick release and she makes it look effortless when she fields. She will also hit in the top 4 of our lineup and has speed around the bases. She led our team in singles with 27 and doubles with 10. MJ ended the season 2nd in average with 459. Senior CF Sydney Lochocki will be the leader in our outfield. Led our team with 491batting average. She bats lefty and has great power at the plate. She will hit in the cleanup spot or 3 spot. Covers the outfield great and has great instinct. Senior Megan Jackson will have time in RF and 1B and is a great contact hitter. She is a solid line drive hitter and looking for big things for her senior season Junior returning starting pitcher helped out our team in 8 th grade and hasn’t turned back. Gia Gangi commands control of her pitches and put a ton of time in the off season. She
has great location on her pitches and keeps the batters off balance. Not only a leader on the mound Gia also will hit in the top 4 of our lineup as she has a strong bat and great discipline at the plate. Junior returner Lexi Quagliana will spend time behind the plate with her quick release and ability to block balls. She is a great contact hitter and produces so many quality at bats. Lexi is one of our smartest players and she will also see some time at 3B. Lexi was also 2nd in RBIs on our team last year and first in walks. Junior returner Sydney Fox brings a ton of power up at the plate and will also see time at 3B and catcher. She has a great eye up at the plate and also makes great contact. Junior Emma Siegmann will see time in the outfield and is one of the hardest workers on the field. She shows up and is always smiling. Additional players are juniors Kathryn DeGuehery who will see time on the mound. She has great change of speeds and just a great kid
Junior Elizabeth Foster is another player who can play anywhere and willing to play anywhere to help the team. Sophomore Lexi Beller adds a ton of speed to our lineup and she also an play anywhere. Finishing off our roster, last but not least by any stretch is Olivia Sackel Watch out for her In our first few scrimmages she has already hit 2 triples and 3 Run HR over the fence. She has incredible bat head speed and power and we are excited for her future. Really looking forward to seeing what this group can do. Having experience and the talent is a great combination and they have the drive and passion to win and compete.
