Recapping Yesterday’s Games

Roy-Hart 1, Akron 0

The Lady Rams grabbed a 1-0 victory against Akron courtesy of senior RayLynn Chraston (assisted by Samantha Choate on a corner). Jamie Bower was perfect in goal with 5 saves, earning her 12th shutout of the season.

The Lady Rams improve to 12-1 overall (9-1 in league) and will host Wilson for their Senior Night on Thursday.

Akron now sits at 9-4 overall (7-4 in league) and will play their final league game on Thursday when they make the trip to Medina.

Newfane 0, Wilson 1

Wilson beat Newfane 1-0 to improve to 6-6 overall (4-6 in league).

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow afternoon: Wilson will travel to Roy-Hart, Newfane will host Barker.

Kenmore-City Honors 0, Barker 7

Barker improved to 10-3 overall (9-1 in league) with a 7-0 victory over Kenmore-City Honors. The win maintains their razor-thin lead ahead of Roy-Hart atop the standings of the Niagara-Orleans league, separated by a single goal.

Lena Fazzolari kicked off the scoring for the Lady Raiders at the 27:10 mark of the first half. Emily Wagner would score six minutes later and finish with a hat-trick on the evening. Natalie Bruning (2 goals, 2 assists) and Katrina Clare (1 goal) also scored for Barker. Ciara Gregoire and Aaliyah Wheat each added an assist.

Both teams will square off with Newfane in their next contest; Barker will make the trip on Thursday and Kenmore-City Honors will host the Lady Panthers on Oct 16th to wrap up their regular season schedule.

Sacred Heart 0, Medina 6

Medina blanked Sacred Heart 6-0 to improve to 9-4 overall (6-4 in league).

Guinevere Schalck and Mary Flores each contributed a pair of goals; Micaela Erway and Lacey Kenward also scored for the Lady Mustangs. Sarah Cochrane (2), Abby Blount (1) and Lacey Kenward had the assists.

On Thursday Medina will play host to Akron in a battle for 3rd place in the Niagara-Orleans league.

Starpoint 0, Pioneer 3

Olivia Kempf chipped in two goals and added an assist to help Pioneer improve to 9-4-1 on the year.

Both teams will be away on Friday: Pioneer will play at West Seneca East; Starpoint will travel to Amherst.

Holland 0, Williamsville East 5

Laura Kaplan had two goals to help the Lady Flames to a 5-0 victory over Holland. Williamsville East improves to 10-4 on the year and currently sits at 3rd place in Class B. They’ll play next down in Eden on Friday and finish off their regular season with a trip to Iroquois on Monday.

Holland will be hosting Sweet Home later this evening.
