Recapping Yesterday’s Games

Kenmore-City Honors @ Nichols

No score or official stats were reported for this game.

Starpoint 1, Holland 2

Kelsey Robertson and Alexa Neitch scored for Holland to help their team to a 2-1 victory over Starpoint.

Williamsville South 0, Clarence 5

Clarence, who improves to 12-1 on the year, had bigger things on their mind last night in their game with Williamsville South.

According to Red Devils co-coach Marisa Faso, the team was able to raise a little over $400 in their Play4TheCure game.

“They were pretty emotional today,” Faso said. “We spoke about the ‘strength of survivors’ and what they would want to see in the game. We were able to channel that charisma and courage and play really strong.”

Pioneer 2, Eden 2

With Pioneer leading by a single goal with 4 seconds to go in the game, Rosa Mormina scored to help her Lady Raiders force overtime.

The game would ultimately go to a shootout where Pioneer would strike first, courtesy of Aliycia Sapp.

Emma Cooper held the fate of Eden in her hands as she controlled the final shot for the Lady Raiders. She converted her attempt to force a tie and earn her team 2 Power Points in the Class C standings.

This tie gives Eden a slight edge over Medina as they currently sit at 4th place.

Williamsville East 3, West Seneca West 0

Jenna Cavaleri led the Williamsville East offense with two goals, one og those coming on a penalty stroke. Laura Kaplan added a goal and an assist; Chelsea McNamara tallied an assist. Grace Burker earned a shutout in goal for the Lady Flames.

Katie Bohne had 13 saves for West Seneca West.

With the win, Williamsville East now sits at #2 in Class B. If they are able to overcome Clarence and Iroquois, Williamsville East has a chance to finish the season as the #1 ranked team in Class B.

West Seneca East 0, Orchard Park 9

Orchard Park improves to 6-5 on the year and currently sits at 4th place in Class A.

Iroquois 5, East Aurora 0

Iroquois earned a 5-0 victory over East Aurora. Goals were scored by Elizabeth Fonfara (2), Hanna Grucza (2) and Madison Kasten (1).

Jillian Quinn, Ella Sturm and Mya Braun each added an assist. Hayden Herbold was credited with her 5th shutout of the season.

Lancaster 4, Hamburg 3

Olivia Ringle provided Lancaster with the game winning goal to give her team a 4-3 victory over Hamburg. Lancaster, now 8-3-1, currently sits at 3rd place in Class A.

Maeve Robillard (2) and Nicole Park scored for the Lady Bulldogs.

Sweet Home 2, Williamsville North 3

Erin Roland, Lauren Rabinowitz and Molly Martin each scored a goal in Williamsville North’s 3-2 win over Sweet Home.

Williamsville North now controls their destiny to the #1 seed in Class A. If they are able to win out, no other team in Class A will have enough Power Points to surpass them. A single loss, however, could give Clarence an opportunity to jump up to #1.
