Johnson jolts Canisius past the Red Raiders

The Canisius Crusaders beat the St. Francis Red Raiders 71-54 in Monsignor Matin Boys’ basketball Division A action Friday night.

Senior Jayce Johnson had a team-high 17 points in the win. Classmate Austin James had 11. Ryan Bradley and Brendan Trapper each finished in double-figures.

For St. Francis, junior Lucas Theisen led the way with 16 points. Senior Bo Sireika had 15.

Canisius will play Cardinal O’Hara Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Red Raiders are back in action on Monday when they host Nichols at 7 p.m.
