NFL Boys Volleyball Preview

First place is up for grabs. The NFL seemingly has balance throughout the league.

Niagara-Wheatfield:

The Falcons lost six key players to graduation, but return enough talent that should keep them in the hunt for first place.

The Falcons should be solid on defense thanks to returning starting libero, freshman Dylon Klidonas.

Senior outside hitter Evan Rohring will also be needed to play an increased role.

North Tonawanda:

The Lumberjacks enter every season with the mission of winning the league title and this season is no different.

NT will be deep at outside hitter with Josh Roy, Noah Fox and Kyle Lafferty. Dylan Suter will be at middle hitter.

Kenmore West:

The Blue Devils will also be looking to a new voice of leadership as Dan Norton takes over at varsity after two seasons coaching the Ken-West JV boys.

The Blue Devils will be counting on Ryan Emler, Sebastian Bowen (outside hitter), Jake Andrews (libero/middle), Will Hudson (M) and Seth Bradley (M).

Alex Walker, meanwhile, will run the offense as the Blue Devils starting setter. Jimmy Santowski will also be key to the defense at DS and right side.

Kenmore East:

There’s a new coach on the other side of Colvin Avenue as well. Former Bulldog Nick Sereday takes over as the new head varsity coach.

He’ll have a talented core to work with as Ken-East returns senior outside hitters Adam Lisowski and Jared Dywan and junior OH Dan Omcikus. Feeding them the ball will be junior setter Mike Greiner.

Niagara Falls:

The Wolverines will look to their experienced trio of seniors Noah Johnson (middle blocker), Michael Uhrich (outside hitter) and junior libero Zach Brydges, who was second team All-NFL last year.

Lockport:

The Lions return a trio of key players in seniors Sean Denniston (setter), Zach Schneider (OH) and Rhees Perry (OH/DS).

Grand Island did not reply to WNYAthletics’ requests for information about their team.

CSAT and Lewiston-Porter do not offer boys varsity volleyball teams.

Unlike other NFL fall sports, boys volleyball will not be split into two divisions.
