Park tabs Battle to take over as AD

One of the area’s biggest basketball powers is going to the hardwood to get the new leader of its athletic department.

The Park School announced Monday, that former UB Men’s Basketball player Turner Battle will become the Director of Athletics starting next month.

Battle comes to The Park School after being an assistant coach on the Men’s Basketball team at Division-I Middle Tennesse. Other coaching stops include East Tennessee State, UAB, Chattanooga and UB, under coach Reggie Weatherspoon.

The UB Bull was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Year in 2005 after leading the Bulls to a 23-win season. He was inducted into the University at Buffalo’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. After college, Battle played professionally in Estonia, France, Sweden, the NBA Developmental League and the American Basketball Association.

Battle is set to begin the job June 1.
