Payton Bradley’s four Touchdowns Push Salamanca to a 28-8 Victory

SALAMANCA, N.Y. - The Salamanca Warriors used a four-touchdown performance from their quarterback in a 28-8 win against Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove at Veterans Park Friday night.

Following a scoreless first quarter, the Golden Falcons struck first. With 7:15 remaining in the second quarter, Falconer senior athlete Taylor Jones scored on a five-yard carry, earning the Golden Falcons an early 6-0 lead. Max Parmentier found senior wideout Grant Zahm over the middle on a two-point conversion, increasing the visitors’ lead to 8-0. 

Moments later, the Warriors fired back. With 1:56 remaining in the half, Salamanca’s Payton Bradley connected with wide receiver Brendan Ghani for an eight-yard score. Salamanca tied the game 8-8, following a successful two-point conversion connection from Bradley to Dominick Hill. 

Coming out of the half, Salamanca wasted no time earning the lead. On the third play of the half, Bradley found sophomore tight end Camron Bowser for a 61-yard gain. Two plays later, Bradley scored on a two-yard quarterback sneak to hand Salamanca a 14-8 lead with 10:10 left in the third.

With 2:26 left in the third, the Warriors increased their lead. Bradley found Waylon Dowdy deep over the middle for a 45-yard touchdown pass, expanding the Warriors’ advantage to 20-8.

Just over a minute later, Salamanca’s defense forced a crucial turnover. Junior linebacker Conner Seeley picked off a Parmentier pass, handing the Warriors the ball on Falconer’s 38-yard line.

Salamanca used the short field to their advantage. Bradley scored his fourth total touchdown of the night on a five-yard quarterback power. On the two-point conversion, the dual-threat quarterback found Hill to raise Salamanca’s advantage to 28-8, with 9:22 remaining in regulation.

On fourth down, leading by 20 points with just over five minutes remaining, the Warriors’ defense put the final stamp on the game. Parementier threw a deep pass down the center of the field, only to be intercepted by Bradley. 

The 28-8 victory for Salamanca advances the Warriors to 4-0 (3-0 C) while Falconer falls to 1-3 (1-2 C).

Salamanca will visit Portville next Friday, at 7 p.m., while the Golden Falcons stay on the road to visit Springville next Thursday at 7 p.m.
