Quick Hits: Bulldogs/Lions split in Softball action Wednesday

7th grader Reilly goes deep

Jane Reilly continues to prove her worth as a varsity athlete.

Reilly, a seventh grader in her first season with the Lady Bulldogs, notched the first homerun of her varsity career as Kenmore East rebounded to take the nightcap of its double header against Lockport, 10-8.

Game 1 saw the Lady Lions ride the arm of Amanda Bunga who scattered four hits over her five innings of work as Lockport scored a 7-0 win.

Cecelia Waters (two runs) and Kendra Evans provided the offense as they both went 2-for-3.

The Bulldogs held off a late Lockport rally in the bottom of the fifth to close out Game 2.

Burhans, who suffered her ACL injury as the end of the soccer season, picked up her third win of the year since returning to action this past Saturday.

Burhans also helped her own cause by going 3-for-3.

But it was Jane Reilly who delivered the biggest blast of the night when she drove the ball to deep left field with two on.

Gabby Vasi also provides some pop for the Bulldogs with a two-run homerun.

Camryn Smith was 2-for-4 with two runs scores for Ken-East.

Kyley Fijalkowski stroked a homerun for the Lions.
