Spartans Blank Blue Devils at HarborCenter

Starpoint hockey improved to 2-0 after shutting out Kenmore West Sunday night inside the LECOM HarborCenter in downtown Buffalo.

Senior goaltender AJ White stopped all 14 shots faced to record his first shutout of the season.

It was the second straight win in as many nights for the Spartans. Blake Dewey, the team’s first line center, scored what ended up being the game winning goal at 9:12 of the second period (assisted by Carmelo Martorana).

Ryan Kelly (assisted by Tyler Kalota, Robert Taylor) scored a power play goal in the final minute of the 2nd period as well.

Joey LoBrutto added an empty netter with just a second left in regulation.

Starpoint recorded 22 shots on goal.

Blue Devils goaltender Max Pelino played very well and kept his team in the game.

The Spartans will play West Seneca West on Wednesday at Hockey Outlet. Kenmore West will be in action again next Sunday against Hamburg back at the HarborCenter.
