On Tuesday, June 25th Hitch Edwards ’19 and Gavin Krawiec ’19 were each presented with scholarships from the Jeffrey Michael Sgroi Foundation. Named in honor of Coach Jeff Sgroi, an assistant baseball coach at St. Francis who passed away at age 45 in 2016, these $1500 awards are given annually to two St. Francis High School seniors that exemplify the same qualities of academic excellence, leadership, community service and athleticism that Jeff so proudly represented during his lifetime. Next year both young men will continue their academic and athletic careers as part of Division I baseball programs. Hitch will be attending St. Bonaventure University while Gavin will move on to Niagara University. Congratulations!
