Kenmore West senior Sawyer Dickinson has been selected as the WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by D&E Dream Builders for the week of Monday, February 2nd – Saturday, February 7th, 2026.
Sawyer posted a 4-0 week in the final week of regular season action in WNY for the DevilDogs. On Wednesday he contributed a pin to the team effort in Kenmore’s 51-23 win over Lewiston-Porter in their 2025-2026 Niagara Frontier League dual meet finale. On Saturday, Sawyer came up big with three wins by first period pins to claim the 165-pound title at the NFL Individual Championships. The three wins and pins turned out to be crucial in the final team scoring as Kenmore captured the title while improving their overall place in the final NFL season team standings, tying North Tonawanda for 2nd place in the league for 2025-2026.
Sawyer is a 5-year captain on the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD wrestling team and a returning NYS tournament qualifier. He is a year round wrestler who also spends considerable time in the weight room. According to his coaches, Sawyer is a well balanced student-athlete who shows good leadership within the wrestling room and in school. He is a part of the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) program for engineering in the district and is also currently taking multiple SUNY courses.
