WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air: Joe Colantino

St. Francis sophomore Joe Colantino has been selected as the WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air for the week of Monday, January 26th – Sunday, February 1st, 2026.

Joe stepped into the Red Raiders’ lineup for the entirety of the 2026 NYS CHSAA Dual Meet Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Msgr. Farrell HS in Staten Island. The returning Msgr. Martin All Catholic and CHSAA place winner posted a perfect 8-0 record in St. Francis’s duals, winning seven matches by pin or technical fall to help the Raiders to their third straight CHSAA Dual Meet title. Joe holds a current season record of 26-9.

According to his coaches, Joe is hard worker who continues to sharpen his leadership skills in school and with his teams. Joe is a balanced student-athlete as well carrying honor roll level grades while participating in three sports at St. Francis High School. In addition to competing on a nationally ranked wrestling team, Joe also plays football and is a standout baseball player.
