WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by Petruzzi Insurance Agency: Mason Tirado

Frontier sophomore Mason Tirado has been selected as the WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by Petruzzi Insurance Agency, LLC for the week of Monday, December 23rd – Sunday, December 29th, 2024.

Mason went 3-0 on Saturday to capture the 160-pound title at the 56th Jerry K. Drayer Memorial Akron Holiday Varsity Tournament and in doing so helped the WNY #5 Falcons to the team title with 133-points, only nine points ahead of the runner-up squad.

So far this season, Tirado has regularly found himself in the Falcons lineup, often being asked to cover multiple weights. According to his coaches, Mason is a hard worker, respectful, and has a ‘team first’ attitude. In addition to his high character, Mason’s coaches praise his strong family support system as being one of the keys to his success.

Mason carries an upper-honor roll GPA while also being a part of National Honor Society, band, and a standout player on the soccer pitch. Mason can often be found helping out with modified wrestlers on most days before going to his own practice.
