WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by Sign Gypsies WNY: Josh Kriger

Portville senior Josh Kriger has been selected as the WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by Sign Gypsies WNY for the week of Monday, January 27th – Sunday, February 2nd, 2025.

Josh earned a decision on Tuesday in the Panthers’ CCAA I victory over Dunkirk. Then on Saturday, Josh went a perfect 4-0 at the 39th Ken-Ton Invitational to capture the 215-pound title. Josh earned a tech fall, major decision, decision, and a pin in the finals on the way to the title. Josh’s efforts also helped Portville to the team title by only a 6.5-point margin. He is having an outstanding senior campaign he holds a current season record of 34-3.

According to his coaches, Josh is a quiet leader by example who has set the bar for himself higher now in his senior season. Josh’s coaches commend him for his conduct and sportsmanship in both wins and losses and for his personal growth as a competitor.
