WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by The Cottages at Bemus Point: Bryce DellaPenta

Eden senior Bryce DellaPenta has been selected as the WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week presented by The Cottages at Bemus Point for the week of Monday, Monday, February 23rd – Saturday, February 28th, 2026. 

Bryce reached the NYS Division II 157-pound title match on Saturday at the state federation championships. Although he ultimately fell, Bryce joins an alite list of Eden wrestlers to have reached the NYS finals as the fifth Raider to do so. On the way to the final, Bryce earned a pre-quarterfinal round pin before gutting out 1-point decision wins in the quarter and semifinal, including a tie breaker decision win in the semi. Bryce ended the season with a 45-3 overall record and is 190-50 for his career.

According to his coaches, Bryce is man of few words and was more of a “leader by example.” He was challenged all year by bumping up a weight class to wrestle heavier opponents and embraced the challenge every time. Bryce is coachable and was receptive to coaching & technique adjustments during practice and tournaments. Bryce’s coaches say his work ethic can’t be matched and that he is a year round lifter and that with the combination of his strength and technique make him one of the toughest wrestlers in New York. Bryce is also a balanced student-athlete carrying a strong GPA in the classroom.
