WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week: Victor Cusatis

Wilson junior Victor Cusatis has been selected as the WNY Athletics Boys Wrestler of the Week for the week of Monday, December 2nd – Saturday, December 7th, 2024.

Cusatis posted a 7-0 record over the weekend at the Joe Shifflet Sweet Home Duals to help lead the Lakemen to the tournament team title. As a WNY unranked team in week one, Wilson took down two ranked and honorable mentioned large schools as well as a ranked fellow small school. Cusatis earned maximum team points in all seven duals, picking up crucial pins in six matches and collecting a forfeit in one dual. Victor also achieved his 100th career victory over the weekend.

Cusatis is a 2023 NYS tournament qualifier and a big part of the recent success of the program. According to his coaches, he maintains a high GPA while balancing athletics and is a leader in school who does things ‘the right way.’
