WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by D&E Dream Builders: Lacey Rajla

Hamburg sophomore Lacey Rajla has been selected as the WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by D&E Dream Builders for the week of Monday, January 5th – Sunday, January 11th, 2026.

Lacey posted a 7-0 week for the WNY #5 ranked Orchard Park-Southtowns combined team. On Wednesday she earned a pin in the team effort against a strong Alexander-led combined team out of Section V. Then on Saturday, Lacey went a perfect 6-0 with six pins to claim the Franklinville Tournament 120-pound title. Her effort helped Southtowns to 1st place in the final standings for their first tournament team title.  So far this season Lacey is 22-4 with nineteen pins and three wins by technical superiority.

According to her coaches, Lacey “may have been more excited about the first place team championship than her own” after the final results were tallied in Franklinville.

Though only in her third year of wrestling, Lacey is a team captain on and off the mat and shows good character in school. She also participates in gymnastics and track & field at Hamburg High School. Lacey excels in the P-Tech (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) Race program at Erie 1 BOCES carrying the highest GPA in the class.
