WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air: Ashley Cox

Clarence sophomore Ashley Cox has been selected as the WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air for the week of Monday, December 1st – Saturday, December 6th, 2025.

Cox dominated on Friday at the Rich Morton Salamanca Girls Tournament posting a 5-0 record to capture the 114-pound title. She cruised to the title match with four first period pins in the championship bracket including pins in less than one minute in the quarter and semifinals. In the title bout, Cox was a winner by a 13-2 technical superiority to cap off an impressive tournament performance.

According to her coaches, Ashley is hard working, loyal, and does everything that is asked of her. Her coaches noted that even though she only started wrestling about 390 days ago, at least 370 of them have been spent on the mat. Ashley’s coaches commend her commitment to offseason wrestling, sometimes practicing twice a day, as well as lifting and conditioning. Ashley is a returning 3rd place winner from the 2025 Section VI Championships.
