WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air: Braelynn Wicks

Fredonia freshman Braelynn Wicks has been selected as the WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air for the week of Monday, December 15th – Saturday, December 20th, 2025.

Braelynn went 4-0 on Saturday at the Linda Knuutila Memorial Tournament at SUNY Niagara on the way to claiming the title in the 145-pound bracket. She picked up three pins in the championship bracket before earning an 8-6 decision in the title bout, avenging her only loss of the season so far. Braelynn is currently 11-1 on the season and a returning Section VI finalist and NYS tournament qualifier.

Braelynn also plays flag football and soccer at Fredonia but started wrestling in 7th grade. Fredonia head coach Ross Conti said about Braelynn that she is a great teammate and that “She has brought joy to coaching since she started wrestling. Braelynn is one of the reasons I keep coaching after 49 seasons.”
