WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air: Tayler Pinzok

Sherman junior Tayler Pinzok has been selected as the WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Hamburg Radiator Auto & Air for the week of Monday, February 9th – Sunday, February 15th, 2026.

As the top seed in the 107-pound bracket at the Section VI Girls Wrestling Championships, Tayler dominated the field on the way to capturing the sectional title in her first season back on the mats. On Thursday at Sweet Home, Tayler earned a first round pin before picking up a technical superiority in the quarterfinal to advance to Sunday’s semis at SUNY Fredonia.

At Fredonia, Tayler earned a pin to advance to the title match where she capped off her run to the 107-pound crown with another pin, automatially qualifying her for the 2nd NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Championships. Tayler’s four bonus point victories proved to be crucial in the team score race as Chautauqua Lake also claimed the Section VI team title.

Tayler returned to wrestling this season after having last wrestled in 5th grade. Her presence on the combined Chautauqua Lake team was definitely felt all season as she has amassed a 29-9 record as a crucial piece in lower end of the lineup.

According to her coaches, Tayler has a quiet demeanor and strong character and has a good work ethic in the classroom and in the practice room.
