WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Sign Gypsies WNY: Gabriella Gelnett

Lockport junior Gabriella Gelnett has been selected as the WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week presented by Sign Gypsies WNY for the week of Monday, January 6th – Saturday, January 11th, 2025.

Gabriella went a perfect 6-0 on Saturday at the Kenmore Girls Duals at Kenmore West to help the WNY #1 Lions to the team title, taking down four fellow ranked teams on the day. So far this season, Gabriella is 22-1 anchoring the lower end of the talented Lockport lineup.

According to her coaches, Gabriella quietly leads by example and puts in the work in the offseason. She is a multi-talented student-athlete who also competes in flag football while carrying a high honor roll GPA. Outside of school, Gabriella volunteers with the Lockport Junior Police Academy.

After high school, Gabriella has ambitions of continuing to wrestle collegiately.
