WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week: Sofia Guadagna

Sweet Home junior Sofia Guadagna has been selected as the WNY Athletics Girls Wrestler of the Week for the week of Monday, December 2nd – Saturday, December 7th, 2024.

Sofia went a perfect 6-0 at the 1st Annual Lady Trojan Invitational at Alexander (V) over the weekend on the way to claiming the 132-pound tournament title.

Guadagna dominated the bracket on Saturday with three pins and three technical falls (10-point margins in freestyle) including a high quality win over a returning NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational competitor. Her efforts helped the Panthers a 2nd place finish by a narrow two-point margin

According to her coaches, Sofia maintains a high honor roll GPA and is a multi-sport student athlete who is also in the National Honor Society and has great conduct in school.
