Lake Shore freshman Alexiya Thuman has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for results from Saturday, February 19th, 2022.
Thuman claimed 1st place at 118-pounds in last Saturday’s Intersectional Girls Wrestling Championships at Chautauqua Lake. Alexiya dominated the 118-pound field with a 5-0 record including four pins on the way to the title. Alexiya’s final season record stands at an impressive 19-4 overall for the Eagles freshman. She is already an experienced young wrestler having first started wrestling around 3rd/4th grade.
Alexiya’s coaches describe her as a hard-working and tough student athlete who is always willing to go head to head with anyone. Alexiya also maintains good grades and is a positive presence in the classroom.
