WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week: Ben Wortkoetter

Wilson senior Ben Wortkoetter has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the week of Wednesday, November 30th to Saturday, December 2nd, 2022.

Wortkoetter went 6-0 at the 50th Annual Joe Shifflet Sweet Home Duals, recording five pins in those six wins to help pace the #6 Lakemen to a 2nd place finish in the team standings with a 6-1 dual record. Also on Saturday, Wortkoetter interviewed for an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Wortkoetter is a captain on the wrestling team and a three-sport athlete with a 100 GPA.

According to his coaches, Ben leads by example and is the definition of hard work paying off on the wrestling mat.
