Niagara Falls senior Jaden Crumpler has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the week of Monday, February 20th – Saturday, February 25th.
Crumpler became the third Wolverine in program history to capture a New York State individual wrestling title over the weekend at the 2023 NYSPHSAA Championships in Albany, Feb. 24 – 25.
Jaden earned impressive tech falls over each of his first two opponents. In the semifinal, Crumpler earned a 5-0 decision over another returning NYS place winner to advance back to the state final.
In the state championship match against another outstanding returning place winner from Nassau County, Crumpler overcame an early 2-0 deficit to win the NYS Division I 126-pound title by decision, 4-2.
Jaden closes out his career at Niagara Falls as a state champion, a two-time NYS finalist, and a three-time Section VI champion. Jaden finished this season with a 41-1 record and a career record of 113-17.
According to his coaches, Jaden is a leader by example both on the team and in school. He also carries a high GPA and is a scholar-athlete at Niagara Falls High School.
