WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week: Jesiere Carter

Niagara Falls junior Jesiere Carter has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week Presented by G&G Fitness for the fifth week of the 2021 season (June 14th – June 19th) in Division I large schools.

After helping the Wolverines secure the Niagara/Orleans ‘super league’ title on Wednesday, Carter captured the Section VI Division I 152-pound individual title on Saturday. Carter earned pins in both the quarter and semifinal rounds before cruising to a convincing 11-4 decision victory over a returning sectional champion in the final, and in doing so, helped the Wolverines to capture the sectional team title.

Jesiere finishes the season with a 14-6 individual record while going 9-1 in ‘super league’ duals to help Falls to the league title, 10-0 unbeaten record, and #3 WNY final overall ranking.

Jesiere is known as a leader by example both on and off the mat by his teammates and coaches.
