Niagara Falls senior Max Hill has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the fifth week of the 2021-2022 regular season (Monday, December 27th – Friday, December 31st).
Max captured the 172-pound individual title at the 53rd Annual Akron Holiday Wrestling Tournament on December 29th, going a perfect 4-0 on the day while helping lead the Wolverines to the team title in convincing fashion. Hill earned a first round decision followed by a tech fall and pins in both the semi and final to gain 25.5 of Falls’ 170.5 team points.
So far this season, Max is 15-1 overall and a huge part of the lineup for the #1 Wolverines, who are also the top seed in Division I going into this weekend’s Section VI Dual Meet Wrestling Championships.
In addition to having an outstanding season, Hill is known as a leader for the Wolverines both in the classroom and practice room, carries good grades, and is known to be a polite individual.
