WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week: Rhett Krieger

East Aurora junior Rhett Krieger has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the week of Tuesday, January 10th to Saturday, January 14th, 2023.

Krieger earned a major decision in the Blue Devils’ road match against Sweet Home on Wednesday, 1/11. Over the weekend, Rhett captured the 152-pound Franklinville Invitational individual title, earning a pin in the title match, to help East Aurora/Holland to a runner-up team finish.

According to his coaches, Rhett leads by example in the wrestling room and in school. He is a team captain and is known to spend time with younger wrestlers helping them by sharing knowledge and supporting new wrestlers coming out for the team. Krieger is currently 22-8 overall on the season.
