Boys lacrosse results and highlights from Week Three games played Thursday, April 4th – Sunday, April 7th.
Thursday, April 4th
West Seneca West 16 – Lockport 2
The Indians improved to 3-3 with a win against the Lions. Steve Lucas scored nearly half of the Indians’ goals with 7 total. Up next for West is a Friday home tilt with Lancaster while the Lions meet City Honors.
Clarence 8 – Williamsville North 4
Clarence earned a quality win over a good Spartans squad on the road. The Red Devils even their record at 2-2 with a Saturday trip at Penn Yan coming up. The Spartans close out the third week of competition at 3-3 and will look to get back on track at home on Tuesday against Sweet Home.
Niagara Wheatfield 19 – Sweet Home 11
The Falcons won a game that was significant for both teams to stay afloat in the packed Class B standings. JoJo Hoover led Wheatfield with 4 goals and 2 assists. Eli Dowdy recorded 3 goals and 3 assists, Devin Napolean notched 3 goals and 2 assists, and JT Hamby was just over 50% on the faceoff taking 15 of 28 and picked up 15 ground balls for the Falcons. Noah Bennett made 14 saves in net. Sweet Home was paced by Lucas Marshall’s 6 goals and 4 assists. Rob Giancarlo and Mike Petrina scored 2 goals each while Eddie Gould found the net once. Wheatfield improved to 3-1 with a Saturday showdown against Orchard Park on the horizon. The Panthers finished the third week of action at 3-3 overall.
Hamburg 19 – North Tonawanda 1
The Bulldogs scored at least 17 goals for the fourth time this season. Brock Schneider led the Hamburg scorers with 9 points to include 6 goals and 3 assists. The Collins twins contributed 14 points themselves. Dylan Collins netted 4 goals and 3 assists while Devin scored 2 goals and recorded 5 assists in the win. Hamburg improves to 4-0 on the season and hosts Section V’s Canandaigua on Saturday.
Williamsville East 16 – Frontier 2
The Flames are a perfect 7-0 and hold the best record in WNY so far this season. East has a seven-day break before hosting Sweet Home next Thursday, 4/11. The Falcons could have a chance to win their first game of the season next week.

Friday, April 5th
City Honors 14 – Lockport 9
The Centaurs scored their highest points total of the season. Jake Wisniewski led the winning side with 5 goals and 2 assists. Gage Smith and Assa Al Sultani each netted 4 goals and Jack Galvin scored once for City Honors who improved to 3-3 overall. The Centaurs host Lancaster on Tuesday at Riverside High while Lockport visits Frontier.
Lancaster 12 – West Seneca West 10
The Legends toughed through another close game, hanging on to beat a West squad that is playing good lacrosse against top teams as of late. In Lancaster’s three wins this season, they have been by margins of four, three, and two goals, in order. Their two losses were by one and five goals, in order. Lancaster travels to Williamsville South on Monday for the teams’ sixth straight road game to start the season. West (3-4) hosts North Tonawanda on Monday.
East Aurora 10 – Amherst 7
An improving Tigers squad pushed the Blue Devils in a Friday night Class C showdown. East Aurora sits atop the Class C standings at the end of Week Three with a 5-1 record. The Blue Devils have battled four of the top teams in B and C in the last seven days, finishing 3-1 against them. Amherst (3-3) hosts West Seneca East on Monday. A win for the Tigers could be huge for this team.
Lake Shore/Silver Creek 20 – Grand Island 9
The Eagles scored over 18 goals for the third time this season and got back on track following a loss at Amherst on Wednesday. Lake Shore (4-1) is just behind East Aurora in the Class C standings but has the most goals (82) in the class. The Eagles travel south to Salamanca for a big showdown with the 4-0 Warriors on Monday. The Vikings will look for their second win when they host Gowanda on Monday.
Wilson 7 – Gowanda 6
The Lakemen got their first win of the season against Class D rival Gowanda and scored a season high goals total.
Iroquois 15 – Lewiston-Porter 2
The Chiefs matched their season high points total to improve to 3-3 overall, keeping them in the mix with the Class C leaders at the end of Week Three. Next for Iroquois is a Monday home game against Frontier. Lewiston won’t play again until a visit to Amherst on Wednesday.
Salesianum (DE) 16 – Eden 5
Eden (2-3) has played a strong schedule since March 26th, meeting Iroquois, Lancaster, East Aurora, and the four-time defending Delaware state champions since then. With home tilts with Akron and Orchard Park next week, the Raiders have more challenges ahead of them.
Saturday, April 6th
Orchard Park 18 – Niagara Wheatfield 11
The Quakers got the better of the Falcons on Saturday afternoon in a matchup of two of the area’s top offensive units. Orchard Park’s Andrew Relosky netted 7 goals while Jacob Shul scored 4. Max Streety recorded 3 goals, 4 assists, and scooped 19 ground balls for the 6-0 Quakers. Carter Korzenski scored twice, and Quinn O’Brien and Archie Bartolotti each found the net once. Cayden Collins recorded 5 assists. Devin Napolean notched 4 goals and 2 assists for Wheatfield. JoJo Hoover netted 3 goals and 2 assists while goal tender Noah Bennett had a busy day making 25 stops in net for Wheatfield who fell to 3-2.
Williamsville South 12 – Depew 3
The Billes earned two wins this week and improved to 4-2 overall after beating the Wildcats, moving into third in the Class C standings at the end of Week Three. Ben Carey recorded 5 goals and 1 assist while Matt Buchnowski notched 3 goals and 1 assist. Depew hosts St. Mary’s club on Monday.
St. Joe’s 13 – Salesianum (DE) 10
The Marauders took down the four-time defending Delaware state champions on Saturday after overcoming a 6-0 first quarter deficit and a 9-4 halftime deficit. Cole Campbell led with 4 goals. Ryan McGorry and Kellen Pulera each netted 3 goals for the Marauders who improved to 3-0. Hunter Parucki added 2 scores and 2 assists and Evan Mulderig found the net once for St. Joe’s.
Canandaigua (V) 12 – Hamburg 7
The ‘Dawgs lost their first game of the season to the visiting Braves.
Penn Yan (V) 12 – Clarence 4
Clarence fell to the 2018 NYS Class D finalist on the road.
Sunday, April 7th
St. Joe’s 13 vs Aquinas (V) 5
The Marauders improved to 4-0 on Sunday following a big win over a great team on Saturday. Cole Campbell scored 4 goals for the second time in two days. Ryan McGorry also matched his Saturday total with 3 scores while Trey Gehen netted 2. Edward Klute, Cody McAvoy, Austin Holley, and Max DeFranks scored 1 goal each. Hunter Parucki tallied 3 assists in the win.
