WNY Girls Federation Hockey Playoff Picture

To the best of my mathematical abilities here are the playoff scenarios for the Section VI and Federation playoffs in WNY girls high school hockey as we head into the final week of the regular season.

Monday

Frontier/Lake Shore/Orchard Park (FLOP) vs. Clarence/Amherst/Sweet Home (CASH) 4:30 p.m. at Riverworks

Williamsville (Will-ville) vs. Monsignor Martin (MM) 8:40 p.m. Northtown Center

Tuesday

Will-ville vs. Lancaster/Iroquois/Depew (LID) 4:00 p.m. Holiday Rink

MM vs. CASH 4:00 p.m. Northtown Center

The Following teams have clinches seeds in the playoffs:

LID No. 4 Sec VI, No. 5 FED

Kenmore/Grand Island No. 5 Sec VI, No. 6 FED

Hamburg/Eden/West Seneca No. 6 Sec VI, No. 7 FED

FLOP and MM still in battle for No. 1 FED seed

FLOP clinches top seed in Fed with win (REG or OT) over CASH Or MM loss

If MM sweeps (Both REG wins) last two games AND FLOP ties Monday, teams are tied with 41.5 points. Since teams are tied at 1-0-1 in season series, next tie-breaker is games won in which case: MM No. 1 FED seed

If MM sweeps and FLOP loses, MM takes No. 1 FED seed

Will-ville and CASH are still in the hunt for No. 2 Sec VI/No. 3 FED playoff seed. Currently, Will-ville has 1.0 point lead.

If Will-ville wins (REG or OT) and CASH loses in REG on Monday then Will-ville clinches No. 2 Sec VI/No. 3 FED playoff seed
