Niagara Frontier

Kenmore West 3, Niagara-Wheatfield 0

Dom Schmidt (Kenmore West) threw a 4-hit shutout versus Niagara Wheatfield in the Blue Devils first game of the day. The junior left-hander fanned seven batters to pick up his first win of the season. He helped his cause going 1-for-3 at the dish and scoring two runs. Kyle Schmidt went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Kenmore West 2, Kenmore East 1

In the second game Andrew Fron went six innings against rival Kenmore East, allowing two hits while racking up 10 K’s. The Blue Devils won 2-1. Dom Schmidt had a walk-off single to lead Ken West (6-2) over the Bulldogs.

Lockport 10, Kenmore East 0

Rhees Perry kicked off the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning, followed by a two-run RBI double by Carson Tatro in the fourth. A wild pitch then allowed Tatro to cross home plate and increase the lead to four runs, and the rout was on.

After another run scored, Nicholas Cascia drove in Perry and Jordan Sansone made it 7-0 after he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Another walk and a two-run double by Sean McKinney got the score into double digits and an error got the final score onto the board.

ECIC I

Lancaster 15, Williamsville North 2

Lancaster scored five runs in the top of the second inning to set the stage for a big 15-2 road win over Williamsville North. Senior Max Giordano pitched five and two-thirds innings for the Legends striking out eight batters and allowing just one run.

J.P. Ahrens, John Rogowski, Nick Castellana and Tom Bednarski each had three hits for Lancaster. The Legends record improves to 4-1.

Joey Battaglia went 2-4 for the Spartans (2-2)

Clarence 2, Orchard Park 0

Mike O’Brien through a complete game shutout to lead the Red Devils over Orchard Park, surrendering just two hits.

ECIC II

Williamsville East 2, Sweet Home 1

Mike Wolf hit a game winning double to lead the Flames past the Panthers 2-1. John Moran struck out 10 batters for the win. Will East improves to 3-0.

ECIC III

Maryvale 12, Cheektowaga 2

The Desiderio brothers went to work on rival Cheektowaga in a 12-2 Flyers victory. Hunter picked up the win on the mound, he threw 9 K’s while younger brother Connor had 2 hits and 4 RBI’s. DeAnte Mecca and Paul Tripi also had two hits.

CCAA East I

Allegany-Limestone 11, Gowanda 2

Allegany-Limestone defeated Gowanda 11-2 at home. The Gators rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the fifth inning scoring 10 runs. Logan Klice hit two doubles in the fifth that brought in three runs for Allegany-Limestone.

Travis Maguire picked up the win while Grant Davis and Tommy Moran each had two hits for the Gators (2-1). The Panthers remain winless at 4-0, scheduled to face Randolph on Monday.

CCAA East II

North Collins 5, Frewsburg 1

North Collins dealt Frewsburg their first loss of the season 5-1. A couple of Bears errors led to a three run outburst in the first inning for the Eagles. Frewsburg scored a run in the bottom of the first to make it a two-run game but had little offense in the later innings.

Senior Brandon Zielinski pitched all seven innings for the Eagles recording four strike outs. Zielinski also went 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.

CCAA West I

Southwestern 3, Dunkirk 2 (9 Innings)

Southwestern’s Aidan Kennedy drove in the go ahead run in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Trojans a 3-2 win over Dunkirk. Colin Melquist scored the game winner.

Jared Glowniak pitched a gem for the Marauders, striking out nine batters and giving up just two hits in 7 and a third innings. Luke Heil and Mitchell Pascarella recorded five strikeouts each for Southwestern.

Niagara-Orleans

Albion 3, Wilson 2

Wilson’s Tommy Bender struck out 13 Albion hitters but it wasn’t enough as the Lakemen fell 3-2. Albion sophomore Tommy Furmanski fanned 12.

Medina 2, Newfane 1

Zach Fike picked up his first varsity win in Medina’s 2-1 win over Newfane. Fike gave up four hits and threw 3 strikeouts. The Mustangs improve to 5-2 overall.

Akron 6, Barker 1

The Tigers Jake Cummings had two hits an RBI and stole two bases in a 6-1 win over Barker. Derek Holtz pitched 5.1 innings and threw six strikeouts in the win, he also had three hits.

Cornell Cup I

City Honors 12, Hutch-Tech 2

Ray Wasielewski through five strikeouts and Gabe Galahe went 3-for-3 and knocked in four RBI’s to lead City Honors over Hutch Tech. Improving their record to 3-0

Monsignor Martin

Game 1: St. Joe’s 7, Nichols 1

Will Carlone played a great game for the Marauders pitching five strong innings, racking up six K’s and hitting two (2) triples and three RBI’s in St. Joe’s 7-1 win over Nichols.

Game 2: St. Joe’s 8, Nichols 1

Alex D’Anniballe hit a triple and had 4 RBI’s in the second game for St. Joe’s in their 8-1 win over Nichols. Will Hearn pitched four innings to earn the win, he also had three hits for the Marauders.

Non-League

Clarence 9, Hamburg 0

Will Hurwitz picked up five k’s and got the “W” for Clarence to help improve their overall record to 6-0.

Randolph 15, Ellicottville 6

The Cards improve to 2-1 on the season after defeating Ellicottville 15-6. Randolph hosts Gowanda on Monday.

Maryvale 5, Depew 4

Connor Desiderio threw 5 K’s and picked up the win leading Maryvale over Depew 5-4. The Flyers trailed 3-0 heading into the fifth inning before rallying to win. Paul Tripi started on the hill for Maryvale and gave up two earned runs and struck out four batters.
